  • Biography:
Dr. Dai is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, College of Science, at the University of Arizona, USA. He holds a BS degree in physics from Nanjing University, China, and a PhD in experimental psychology from Northeastern University, USA. His research is concerned with the auditory perception of complex sounds by human listeners; it takes an integrated approach that combines empirical psychophysical testing with theoretical computational modeling to explore how listeners extract useful information from various sounds. In addition to its basic-science aspects, the research is also concerned with applied issues related to hearing, including the application of statistical and psychophysical principles to the diagnoses of hearing disorders, and the signal processing for hearing aids and cochlear implants. Dr. Dai’s research has been supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health.
